Mayor Don Walters is proud to announce the launch of the Cuyahoga Falls Bike Champion Program, a new community bike safety initiative designed to promote safe, responsible riding for bicyclists and e-bike riders of all ages.
The Bike Champion Program provides riders with the tools and knowledge they need to ride confidently and safely. Participants are invited to watch a short bike and e-bike safety video, review a bike safety handout, and complete a brief online form confirming they have reviewed the safety materials.
After completing the program, participants will receive a Bike Champion Certificate signed by Mayor Don Walters recognizing their commitment to safe riding, along with a Cuyahoga Falls Bike Champion sticker to proudly display on their bicycle, helmet, or other riding gear.
"Bicycles and e-bikes are a fun and convenient way to get around our community, but safety must always come first," said Mayor Don Walters. "Whether you're riding to school, visiting friends, or exploring our parks and neighborhoods, every rider plays a role in keeping our streets and trails safe. This program encourages smart decisions, respect for others, and responsible riding throughout our community."
The program covers important safety topics, including proper helmet use, traffic laws and local regulations, sharing the road and trails, awareness of pedestrians and vehicles, and responsible bicycle and e-bike operation.
The City of Cuyahoga Falls encourages riders of all ages, along with parents and guardians, to participate in the Bike Champion Program and help build a safer community for everyone.
