Mayor Don Walters is proud to announce a new Veteran Banner Program in Cuyahoga Falls, created to honor the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces, past and present.

Commemorative banners will be installed along Portage Trail from 13th Street to Lillis Drive. Banners will be displayed from Independence Day through Veterans Day. Each banner will feature a military photo, the service member’s name, branch of service, and years served.

“Our Veteran Banner Program is a meaningful way to celebrate the service and dedication of our local heroes,” said Mayor Don Walters. “We invite families, friends, and community members to participate in honoring those who have made a lasting impact on our lives and our country.”

Banners are available for $125 each, which includes the graphic design, printing, installation, and removal. Space is limited, and banners will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants will be required to submit a completed application, along with payment, in order to reserve space in the program. After the banners are removed, applicants will be notified when their banner is ready for pick up.

To be eligible, the honored veteran or active service member must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Current resident of Cuyahoga Falls
  • Former resident of Cuyahoga Falls
  • Family member of a current resident of Cuyahoga Falls

Applications are now open and will be accepted until Monday, May 25, or until all banner spaces are filled, whichever comes first. Payment can be made by cash or check, payable to the City of Cuyahoga Falls.
