Mayor Don Walters and Congressman Tim Ryan (OH-13) are proud to announce that the City of Cuyahoga Falls has pre-ordered a Lordstown Endurance Electric Pickup Truck, the world’s first all-electric pickup truck that will be manufactured by Lordstown Motors in 2021.

“I am proud that we are able to order this vehicle that will be manufactured locally here in the State of Ohio. We remain committed to our sustainability and green initiatives by utilizing an electric vehicle with lower operating and maintenance costs that also help us save valuable tax dollars,” stated Cuyahoga Falls Mayor Don Walters. “The ability for us to acquire the Endurance highlights that there is a bright future for manufacturing in Ohio and that Ohioans have the innovation, workforce, and infrastructure to adapt to the shifting needs of the automotive market.”

“I want to congratulate Mayor Walters and the City of Cuyahoga Falls on the pre-order of the Lordstown Motors-built Endurance Electric Pickup Truck,” said Congressman Ryan. “The Mayor is doing his part in ensuring that the United States is a leader in building electric vehicles. Like the Mayor, I am also excited for the future of manufacturing in northeastern Ohio as our workers will once again build world-class vehicles, this time an electric vehicle that puts on display the forward-thinking ingenuity workmanship we have always been known for.”

The City of Cuyahoga Falls has earmarked $70,000 in the 2021 budget for the Lordstown Endurance Electric Pickup.
