Mayor Walters is pleased to announce that application information for the 2026 American Municipal Power (AMP) Scholarship Program is now available. AMP has established this scholarship program to encourage high school students in member communities to further their education and raise awareness of careers in the municipal electric utility field.
The Cuyahoga Falls Electric System may nominate one candidate for the Lyle B. Wright Scholarship and one candidate for the Richard H. Gorsuch Scholarship. High school seniors who will graduate in the spring, have met all the basic requirements for college or technical school, and have an unweighted grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale, are encouraged to apply for nomination. The amount of these one-time scholarship awards is $3,000.
Students must complete the local nominee application form and submit it along with a letter of recommendation and an official high school transcript showing the student's cumulative grade point average for six semesters. The Cuyahoga Falls Electric System must receive completed application materials by 5 P.M. Monday, December 8, 2025. Applications can be sent to Bryce Pulley via email (bpulley@cityofcf.com) or mail (NECCO, 2310 Second Street, Cuyahoga Falls, OH, 44221).
Application packets are available at cityofcf.com/services/amp-scholarship. Students are urged to work closely with their high school guidance counselors to ensure that application materials are complete and submitted on time.
While scholastic record is important in the selection process, AMP Scholarship recipients will also be selected based on personal achievements and knowledge of public power. For more information, please contact the Cuyahoga Falls Electric System at 330-971-8060.
