Mayor Don Walters is proud to announce that the City of Cuyahoga Falls will celebrate National Arbor Day with the annual program on Friday, April 24, at 4:00 p.m., at the Cuyahoga Falls Arboretum within Kennedy Park. The entrance to the Arboretum is at 2028 Munroe Falls Avenue, across from Water Works Aquatic Center. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.

This year’s Arbor Day celebration, themed “Legacy Rooted in Community,” honors two significant milestones: America’s 250th Birthday and Tree City USA's 50th Anniversary. A Kwanzan Cherry Tree will be planted to commemorate this historic occasion.

In addition to the annual Arbor Day Program, the City of Cuyahoga Falls worked with more than 400 second-grade students across seven elementary schools. Students learned about the importance of Arbor Day and received native tree seeds. Students also participated in an Arbor Day poster competition, creating artwork that reflects what Arbor Day means to them.

Each class selected its top two posters for submission to the Cuyahoga Falls Tree Board for consideration. From those entries, the Tree Board selected one winning poster from each class. Awarded students and their families are invited to this celebration, where students will be honored for their creativity and hard work.
