Mayor Don Walters is honored to announce that the City of Cuyahoga Falls has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).  The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.  Finance Director Bryan Hoffman has been presented the award for preparing the award-winning Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.

“Being recognized by the GFOA is a significant accomplishment for the City of Cuyahoga Falls and is a true testament to the talent and commitment of Finance Director Bryan Hoffman and our finance team,” stated Mayor Don Walters.  “I am incredibly proud of their accomplishments.”

The Comprehensive Annual Financial Report is judged by an impartial panel that is charged with identifying entities that meet strict criteria set forth by the program such as demonstrating a constructive “spirit of disclosure” to clearly communicate the financial story and to motivate potential users and user groups to read the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.

The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving roughly 17,500 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago, IL, and Washington, D.C.
