Mayor Don Walters is proud to announce that the 4th Annual Falls Fire Showdown Smoke on the Water returns to Downtown Cuyahoga Falls this Friday, June 6, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. The event will showcase eighteen teams of firefighters representing fifteen area departments competing in a relay challenge to determine who is the best of the best. The competition is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.

- New Franklin Fire Department
- Ravenna Fire Department
- Stow Fire Department
- Tallmadge Fire Department
- Twinsburg Fire Department
- Westshore Fire Department
The family-friendly event will feature food trucks, craft beer vendors, and 80s music with Cleveland's Breakfast Club from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Downtown Amphitheater.

"The Falls Fire Showdown kicks off another summer of family-friendly fun in Downtown Cuyahoga Falls," stated Mayor Don Walters. "Join me in rooting for our Cuyahoga Falls Firefighters as they show off their skills while competing against area departments, all for a great cause."
All funds raised at the Falls Fire Showdown will benefit the Cuyahoga Falls Firefighters Memorial Foundation and the construction of a permanent memorial that incorporates the historic Cuyahoga Falls Fire Department bell. The Cuyahoga Falls Firefighters Memorial Foundation is dedicated to preserving the legacy of those who served the City of Cuyahoga Falls as Firefighters, especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Parking Restrictions and Road Closures
There will be the following restrictions on parking and road closures:
- There will be no parking on Front Street between Broad Boulevard and Portage Trail beginning Friday, June 6, at noon.
- Front Street between Broad Boulevard and Portage Trail will be closed to traffic on Friday, June 6, 2 p.m. - 11 p.m.
