FirstEnergy will be making permanent repairs to their damaged transmission line pole that caused the large-scale power outage in the City of Cuyahoga Falls on October 19, 2021. The work is scheduled for Sunday, November 7, 2021, at 6 a.m. and will last approximately eight hours, per FirstEnergy.  Unfortunately, FirstEnergy has notified the City of Cuyahoga Falls that they must disconnect power to make the needed repairs. However, in preparation, the Cuyahoga Falls Electric Department has made modifications to the electric system to address this outage, including the use of nine large generators. There are six generators at the service complex on Bailey Road and three near the water treatment plant on Munroe Falls Avenue, and with all operating, will result in increased noise. These generators coupled with the limited power from Theiss Substation, should be adequate to keep the city energized, given that total usage for a typical Sunday morning is low. Customers are encouraged to limit their power consumption during this time frame to help conserve power on the electric system. FirstEnergy thanks customers in advance for their patience during the repairs.
