The City of Cuyahoga Falls has the second-lowest unemployment rate in the State of Ohio among all cities over 50,000 residents, according to the August 2020 report from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, Office of Workforce Development, and Bureau of Labor Market Information. The city currently has an unemployment rate of 8.3%. The cities of Mentor and Kettering were tied for the lowest unemployment rates at 7.8%.

“The unemployment rate in the City of Cuyahoga Falls shows that the city remains stable despite the devastating economic effects from the COVID-19 pandemic,” stated Mayor Don Walters. “Our businesses have remained viable, and I am grateful that our residents and visitors continue to patronize our local businesses, which helps us retain valuable jobs and economic viability.”
