Mayor Don Walters is proud to announce that the City of Cuyahoga Falls has received national recognition for achieving exceptional electric service reliability from the American Public Power Association, a trade group that represents more than 2,000 not-for-profit, community-owned electric utilities. The city was awarded a 2017 Certificate of Excellence in Reliability.
“I could not be more proud of our award-winning Electric Department and their continued commitment to safety and delivering top-notch services to our residents and business community,” stated Mayor Don Walters. “This award is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our team in the Electric Department.”
The American Public Power Association helps public power systems track outage and restoration data through the eReliability Tracker service and then compares that data to national statistics from the U.S. Energy Information Administration for all types of electric utilities. The City of Cuyahoga Falls credits its reliability performance to maintenance and upgrades as well as quick response and restoration timeliness during instances of outages.
