CDBG Substantial Amendment
2019-2023 Consolidated Plan and CARES Act CDBG-CV3 Funds

The City of Cuyahoga Falls has been given a special allocation of Community Development Block Grant funds to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the coronavirus (COVID-19).  This allocation was authorized by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), Public Law 116-136, signed on March 27, 2020. The Department of Housing and Urban Development’s third round of funding was awarded to states and local governments with the City of Cuyahoga Falls receiving $233,720.  The City of Cuyahoga Falls cumulative amount for all allocation rounds is $628,674.

The amended 2019 Annual Action Plan includes CDBG-CV3 funds that will be used for food pantry support and economic assistance to Cuyahoga Falls businesses adversely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, the 2019-2023 Consolidated Plan has been amended to include Public Facilities and Improvements as a possible project.

HUD has approved a not less than 5-day public comment period.  The comment period for these funds will begin on April 19, 2021, and end on April 23, 2021, which will allow the public to make comments or suggestions regarding COVID-19 related needs and use of these funds. To comply with social distancing directives, an in-person public hearing will not be held.

Residents, officials, and stakeholders are invited to review and submit comments for the 2019 amended Consolidated Plan and Annual Action Plan.  A draft copy is available for review here
