The City of Cuyahoga Falls Police Department is looking for a dependable individual for the position of part-time Community Service Officer.

This position is responsible for coordinating and assisting in prisoner transport, coordinating prisoner meals, assisting in maintaining the cleanliness of the jail, searching prisoners, composing various correspondence and reports, and assisting records in evidence/property procedures. Other duties may include assisting citizens with locked or stalled vehicles, crime prevention, animal control, traffic safety, parking enforcement, and other duties as directed by the Chief of Police or his designee. 

Qualified candidates must be 18 years or older at the time of employment and have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Candidates must also have no felony convictions or disqualifying criminal histories within the past seven years and be able to read and write the English language. 

Must be able to learn laws and department policies and procedures and apply them to their daily work. Knowledge of the geography of the City of Cuyahoga Falls is preferred. In order to succeed in this position individuals must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, supervisors, and the public.

These positions will require approximately 20-29 hours per week. The schedule is flexible but evenings and weekends may be required. 

Rate of pay is $13.50 per hour.

Must be and remain a non-tobacco/nicotine user for the duration of employment with the City of Cuyahoga Falls. Must also possess a valid State of Ohio driver’s license and ability to maintain continuing eligibility under the City’s driver eligibility standards
