Mayor Don Walters and the Cuyahoga Falls Parks and Recreation Department invite the community to attend the official debut and ribbon cuttings for a new public art installation and the City’s second dog park at Water Works Park, located at 2025 Munroe Falls Ave., on Monday, July 15 at 5 p.m.
“We are thrilled to unveil these exciting new additions to Water Works Park,” stated Mayor Walters. “Our Parks and Recreation Department continues to expand opportunities for residents, visitors, and our four-legged family members to enjoy our wonderful parks system.”

The event will begin with the unveiling of a blue heron sculpture at the riverside near the Peninsula Shelter at 5 p.m. The sculpture, designed by local artist Michael Marras, will be a lasting tribute celebrating our river heritage and the advancement of water quality since the last burning of the Cuyahoga River in 1969.  Marras specializes in creating 2D and 3D mixed-media art out of discarded metals.

Following the public art unveiling, the crowd will shift to the official opening of the Water Works Dog Park. The Water Works Dog Park joins the Keyser Dog Park as the City’s second dog-friendly facility and features separate sections for large and small dogs, as well as water stations.
