Mayor Don Walters is pleased to announce that the City of Cuyahoga Falls will host the second annual Downtown Cuyahoga Falls Fire Truck Pull on Saturday, September 3, from 5-10 p.m. on Front Street. The 2022 Fire Truck Pull will benefit the Cuyahoga Falls Firefighter Memorial Foundation.

Teams of up to 10 will be challenged to pull a Cuyahoga Falls Fire Truck 40 feet in the fastest time. Registration is $250 per team or $25 per person for free agents who want to be placed on a team. This year, participants will have the option to pull the truck in competition or to pull the truck for fun. All participants must sign a waiver of liability. Team check-in will be held from 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m., followed by the truck pulling event at 5 p.m. Registration is currently open by visiting www.cityofcf.com/truckpullregistration

The family-friendly event will also feature food trucks, craft beer vendors, kids activities provided by Mobile Rec through the Cuyahoga Falls Parks and Recreation Department, and music at 8 p.m. by local band Follow the Sun. Event and team sponsorships are available. Donations to the Cuyahoga Falls Firefighter Memorial Foundation may be made online at https://fallsfirememorial.org/fire-truck-pull/ or by check payable to Cuyahoga Falls Firefighter Memorial Foundation (memo line – fire truck pull) C/O City of Cuyahoga Falls, 2310 Second Street, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221.

“Last year, teams from across the county came to test their strength and agility as they pulled a Cuyahoga Falls firetruck for charity,” stated Mayor Don Walters. “As this friendly competition grows this year, we are pleased to welcome all participants and visitors to enjoy all that Downtown Cuyahoga Falls has to offer.”

“After seeing the success of the Cuyahoga Falls Fire Truck Pull last year, the Cuyahoga Falls Firefighter Memorial Foundation is both excited and grateful to be chosen as the beneficiary of this year’s event,” stated Matthew Kee, Cuyahoga Falls Firefighter Memorial Foundation President. “This is an opportunity for us to raise the necessary funding to build a memorial site for our fallen firefighters outside of Fire Station One on Front Street.”

Front Street between Broad Boulevard and Portage Trail will be closed to traffic on Saturday, September 3, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

All funds raised at the Downtown Cuyahoga Falls Fire Truck Pull will benefit the Cuyahoga Falls Firefighters Memorial Foundation and the construction of a permanent memorial that incorporates the historic Cuyahoga Falls Fire Department bell. The Cuyahoga Falls Firefighters Memorial Foundation is dedicated to preserving the legacy of those that served the City of Cuyahoga Falls as Firefighters, especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
