FirstEnergy will be making federally mandated transmission grid updates to their equipment in the City of Cuyahoga Falls on Sunday, September 25, 2022. The work is scheduled to begin shortly before midnight on Saturday, September 24, 2022, and will last approximately eight hours, per FirstEnergy. The work was mandated by the regional transmission organization PJM. FirstEnergy has notified the City of Cuyahoga Falls that they must disconnect power to make the needed repairs. Though the Cuyahoga Falls Electric Department has modification plans in place to minimize this outage, citywide power outages may occur. The Cuyahoga Falls Electric Department will utilize large auxiliary generators to provide power to as many customers as possible. Everyone is encouraged to limit their power consumption during this time frame to help conserve power on the electric system.
