City of Cuyahoga Falls Announces 2nd Annual Cuyahoga Falls Pride Festival

Oct 02, 2019

The 2nd Annual Cuyahoga Falls Pride event will be held Saturday, October 12, from noon to 6 p.m., at Stow Avenue and Second Street. The City of Cuyahoga Falls is partnering with the First Christian Church of Cuyahoga Falls in support of the LGBTQ+ community in and around Cuyahoga Falls.

The family-friendly event will feature a day of live music, food, local craft beer, vendors, support organizations, speakers, carnival games for kids, inflatables, and more.

“We are proud to co-host Cuyahoga Falls Pride with First Christian Church in celebration of acceptance and inclusion of all of our LGBTQ neighbors, family members, and friends,” stated Mayor Don Walters. “We welcome all people to the City of Cuyahoga Falls to be supported at this family-friendly, inclusive event and we are looking forward to a day filled with great music, food, and community pride.”

"Why should PRIDE be relegated to one month a year? We should be able to share our true colors and celebrate our whole selves year-round,” stated First Christian Church Pastor Debbie Saxe. “This event is an opportunity for folks to gather, get informed, and feel affirmed. Come and celebrate the spectrum of our Cuyahoga Falls community!"

WKYC Meteorologist Michael Estime will kick off the event with Mayor Don Walters at noon followed by the band Brave and Crazy. The Angie Haze Project will take the stage from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The Ladies Night will close out the event from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Harvest Yoga and Wellness Studio will offer a free yoga class at Church Square, 230 Stow Avenue from 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
