The City of Cuyahoga Falls is seeking qualified individuals for the position of Water/Sewer Repair Specialist I in the Water Utilities Department (Water Stockroom Division).
Job Objective
This position performs work related to the installation, maintenance, cleaning and repair of storm and sanitary sewer facilities and the Water Distribution System for the City of Cuyahoga Falls.
Minimum Qualification
High school diploma or GED equivalent is required. Qualified applicants must have some experience in water distribution work. Experience or training in storm and sanitary sewer work is also preferred. Or, any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Must possess a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and the ability to maintain continuing eligibility under the City’s driver eligibility standards.
Candidates must be a non-smoker and non-tobacco user, including but not limited to cigarettes, cigars, pipes, snuff, etc. for the duration of their employment with the City of Cuyahoga Falls.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Good knowledge of occupational hazards connected with storm and sanitary sewer work; and mechanical aptitude for the operation of a variety of hand and power tools, including air compressor, jack hammer, combination sewer truck, hydroexcavator, and other various types of excavating equipment.
Ability to perform all operations related to the installing and servicing of water distribution equipment; perform all operations related to the installing, maintaining, cleaning and repairing of storm and sanitary sewer facilities; make simple arithmetical computations rapidly and accurately; and to keep simple records. A mechanical aptitude is also required.
Additional Information
Starting hourly rate for this position is $23.77 per hour. This position has great potential for advancement. It is an AFSCME union position with exceptional benefits.
