Public Art Plan Community Meeting scheduled for February 27
Feb 20, 2019
Mayor Don Walters is proud to announce a Public Art Plan Community meeting on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, from 7 - 8:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Natatorium in the Erie Room, 2345 Fourth Street, Cuyahoga Falls. The purpose is to garner public comments about public art through the City of Cuyahoga Falls. Residents will have ongoing opportunities to share their ideas and comments about the Public Art Master Plan.
Earlier this year, the City of Cuyahoga Falls selected the consulting team of Todd W. Bressi and Via Partnership to complete a city-wide Public Art Master Plan. The goal of the plan is to provide a long-term roadmap for strategically planning the placement of public art throughout the City and to develop procedures for administering a public art program. The plan will help to encourage art in the downtown historic district, public spaces, streetscapes, parks, neighborhoods and private development projects.
Members representing a cross-section of various interests related to arts, planning, economic development, environment, neighborhood, and historic preservation, have been selected to serve as a Public Art Master Plan Advisory Committee. Work on the plan is underway and consists of the following phases: Phase 1 – Creation of a Work Plan, Phase 2 – Research & Discovery, Phase 3 – Community Outreach, Phase 4 – Strategy Creation, Phase 5 – Plan Development & Approval. The plan is expected to be completed later this year and will be the first of its kind for the City of Cuyahoga Falls.
