On Monday, January 23, Mayor Walters announced Anthony Zumbo as his cabinet selection for the position of Service Director. Council reviewed and confirmed the appointment. Zumbo will join the Administration on Monday, February 13.
“As a planning and designing engineer, Anthony is uniquely qualified to serve the residents of Cuyahoga Falls with vast experience and knowledge of infrastructure, roads, bridges, and water and sewer lines,” stated Mayor Walters. “He has taken creative and innovative approaches to managing critical engineering projects, and our community will benefit greatly from his expertise as we move forward with development and infrastructure projects through the city.”
“I am excited for this opportunity to work with Mayor Walters and his Administration as together we will continue to provide exceptional city services to our residents safely and efficiently,” said Anthony Zumbo. “I was born in Cuyahoga Falls and am impressed with the progress and development that has been happening over the past few years. This is such a dynamic time for the city, and I am honored to be a part of it.”
With over 23 years of combined experience in various aspects of public service, Zumbo is currently the Assistant County Engineer/Planning and Design Engineer for the Portage County Engineer where he has worked since June of 2011. He had previously worked as the District 4 LPA Section Manager for the Ohio Department of Transportation and as a Department Manager with the Office of the Summit County Engineer.
Zumbo is registered as both a Professional Engineer and Professional Surveyor. He is also a current member of the American Society of Highway Engineers- Cuyahoga Valley Section. He graduated from The University of Akron with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1993.
The Service Director is responsible for overseeing more than 300 city employees throughout eight departments including Building and Grounds Maintenance, Human Resources, Electric, Engineering, Garage, Street/ Sanitation, Utility Billing and Water.
