Mayor Walters Announces 2019 Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration in Downtown Cuyahoga Falls

Mayor Don Walters is proud to announce that the City of Cuyahoga Falls will host the 2019 Tree Lighting Celebration on Saturday, November 30, 2019, in Downtown Cuyahoga Falls. The Parks and Recreation Department is partnering with the Neighborhood Excellence, Communications and Community Outreach division to bring the holiday season to life.

Festivities will begin at 5:00 p.m. with an ice carving demonstration, crafts, live reindeer, and performance by the Cuyahoga Falls Community Chorus. Santa Claus and Mayor Walters will light the tree at 6:00 p.m. and a special holiday Flicks on the Falls showing of the movie “Elf” will begin at 7:00 p.m. Before the movie, visitors will enjoy a visit from the snow princesses, photos with Buddy the Elf, Santa or the Grinch, and will be able to take advantage of several food trucks. Community sponsors for the event include Cleveland Clinic Children’s and ReMax Crossroads.

The ice rink will be open to the public from 12-8 p.m. for the first day of the 2019-2020 season. Admission to the ice rink for the season is free, and skates may be rented for $4 per person, per visit.
