The City of Cuyahoga Falls to Celebrate National Arbor Day on Friday April 26th

Apr 10, 2019

Mayor Don Walters announces that the City of Cuyahoga Falls will celebrate National Arbor Day with the annual program on Friday, April 26, at 4:00 p.m., at the Cuyahoga Falls Arboretum within Kennedy Park.  The entrance to the Arboretum is at 2028 Munroe Falls Avenue across from Water Works Aquatic Center.  The public is invited and encouraged to attend.

Each year, the City plants a tree to recognize an individual or organization of Cuyahoga Falls that has made a significant impact on our community. This year, we will be honoring the Ladies Cemetery Association.

Along with the program, the City selects one of our schools to participate in an Arbor Day Contest. The Arbor Day theme is “Trees Help Keep Cuyahoga Falls Beautiful”. The 1st Grade classes at Lincoln Elementary School have been chosen this year to color pictures that encompass the theme. The projects are judged by the Tree Board Members who award a Grand Prize winner, 2nd place winners, 3rd place winners, and Honorable Mention winners. Mayor Walters will read a proclamation and hand out prizes to the winners at the ceremony.
